We all know that moving house, having a baby and getting married are up there with the things that cause you the most stress in your lifetime, but getting married doesn’t have to be on that list. I am going to run through 4 very quick and simple tips which should help you on your way to planning your dream wedding and enjoying it along the way.

Before you do anything, set a budget and try and stick to it where possible. I know this isn’t always possible as you might decide to include some extras that you hadn’t initially thought about, but this can save a lot of difficult decisions on what should stay or go in a bid to get the vision of your perfect day.

When choosing your venue, ensure you check that you don’t have to use their recommended vendors, as this has caught a few couples out and can cause a lot of stress and aggravation as you lose the freedom to choose who YOU want to do things like take your photographs or do the music and it could end up costing you a lot more than what you wanted to spend.

I cannot stress enough about lists! I love a list, whether it be a notebook or a spreadsheet and I find that when you put your thoughts down, you can tick things off when they have been completed or realise that there is something you hadn’t included as you look down it. It is a good way to keep track of your progress and has a great sense of satisfaction as those check marks build up on the way to completing your to do lists.

One of the final pieces of advice I can give you is ensure you read all your contracts thoroughly and look out for any hidden costs. This has bitten a few couples on the proverbial bottom in the past (including me!) and is another thing which can add to your stress levels.
